Gift Giver / Wednesday, September 18, 2019 / Categories: Story of Giving Mission Support for House of Praise, Cincinnatti Marty and Patty Stewart This story of giving is from Marty and Patty Stewart We are acquainted with a man named Lawrence McNickles who is a full time pastor at a local church near Colerain Avenue and also a full time therapist for Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services. Lawrence lives the mantra every day , between his church and job: God's Grace, Your Hands. When we were given the opportunity to offer this gift to someone we both thought of Lawrence and his church. Here is the letter that was enclosed with the check to Lawrence's church: September 10, 2019 Pastor Lawrence McNickles House of Praise 8080 Hamilton Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45231 Dear Lawrence and Members of House of Praise: Our church recently celebrated a weekend called: God’s Grace, Your Hands. In past years, members of our congregation were given opportunities to volunteer at various nonprofit agencies on a specific weekend. This year, church leaders decided to reach far more folks by giving our church members (about 250 members) checks worth $100, $250 or $500 and each member/family were given the opportunity to “pay to the order of” the check to whom they thought would most benefit from this gift. We received a check for $100.00 and we immediately decided that we would gift this check to the House of Praise. We know that this church does wonderful and far reaching mission work by offering the food pantry to those in need and every day, just by being Christians, you offer God’s love to others. You are all a blessing to our community, and we believe that this gift will be used in mission work, responding to the needs of others. Blessings to you always. Yours in Christ, Patty and Marty Stewart. Lawrence's response to the gift was very appreciative and heartfelt.
