Gift Giver / Tuesday, September 24, 2019 / Categories: Story of Giving Building on Grace Karin Schneider This story of giving is from Karin Schneider Sitting in the pew at Good Shepherd as Pastor Heidi discussed God's Grace Your Hands, I immediately knew I would continue to support the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. More than 30 years ago my father, a retired electrical engineer, volunteered for Habitat in Murfreesboro, TN. When he finally retired, his family wondered what would he do? The answer was more hours at a Habitat house. The group of workers gave as much to him as he gave to the team...a passion for construction and camaraderie with the other volunteers. When each house was completed, he expressed a huge sense of satisfaction that yet another family had a solid home. When he passed away thirteen homes had been completed in his retirement era. Our family was and remains immensely proud of his gift to Habitat. Since then I continue to be a financial supporter of Habitat. This check enables me to give addition funds to Cincinnati Habitat who provide homes for those in need. Such an awesome gift! Thank you.
